HOMEWORLD: HYDESPES

Hydespes is said to be home to a very diverse ecology. The marshlands in particular are rumored to be the homes and feeding grounds of an enormous super-predator: a shark-like beast up to seventy meters long and capable of extended gliding flights. Trophies from poachers – usually teeth – have given scientists their only glimpses into what these creatures might be like. A full specimen has yet to be examined, but rare recordings have been seen by the general public. Unfortunately, the growing Metron conflict has largely cancelled any plans to investigate the planet; thus the sailshark remains more of a legend than fact.
